First Cake from Decorating Class

As mentioned earlier, I take cake decorating classes, and this was an assignment for class.

Elegant Cookies

I love baking and decorating cookies as well as cakes.  These are super fun to do, but they take forever, so I usually don't end up making them as often as I would like.  Enjoy!

Welcome Baby Cookies

My friend recently had a baby girl, and rather than take flowers to the hospital, I made these and took it to her.  It was a hit with the mommy and the nurses.

Vanilla cookie, with almond flavored royal icing.

BUT, while I was waiting for them to dry my little cousin accidentally knocked them over and broke some of the butterflies.  Needless to say, I was back to making more butterflies.  I think it worked out for the best in the end, because my second butterflies turned out so much better.

Thanksgiving Cake

My family is super close and we always have huge gatherings during holidays.  For last year's Thanksgiving Dinner, I made a carrot cake.  This cake was made before I took decorating classes.  It looks okay, but the taste was delicious.

First Post/ First Cake

Hello All

So this is my first post for this blog, and I wanted to share a little about myself.  My name is Araksia (Roxy) and recently I found my passion in life.  I discovered how much I love to bake and decorate cakes and cookies.  Baking and I have been inseparable ever since.

I'm still relatively a newbie to the baking and decorating scene, but what little I have, I've made with love.  I've been taking decorating classes at this wonderful place called Jane's Cake and Chocolates in La Canada and I like to think that I'm getting pretty good at decorating.

I will post more pictures later on, but for now I thought that since this is my first post, I would post a picture of my first cake.

This was my uncle's Birthday cake.
I remember making a couple of mistakes while making the buttercream, but the end result turned out great.
